The 22 Paths
The Journeys Between Stations โ Hebrew Letters, Tarot Trumps, Modes of Becoming
Ten Sephiroth are the stations. Twenty-two Paths are the journeys between them. Each path is a Hebrew letter โ a cosmic principle encoded in language โ and a Tarot trump: a visual initiatory symbol. The paths are not mere connections. They are modes of consciousness, qualities of passage, the channels through which divine energy moves between the spheres of being.
The Three Orders of Letters
The primordial elements. Air, Water, Fire โ the three originating substances from which all creation proceeds. These three letters are the mothers of all others.
The seven classical planets. Named "double" for their dual pronunciation โ each letter holds a positive and negative force in tension, as each planet has a benefic and a malefic face.
The twelve signs of the zodiac. One archetypal quality each โ the differentiated expression of consciousness through every phase of the cosmic year.
Three mothers gave birth to seven, and seven to twelve โ the structure of the Sefer Yetzirah, the oldest Kabbalistic text.
Pure freedom beyond all structure โ the primordial breath containing every possibility without actualizing any.
