The 22 Paths
The Journeys Between Stations — Hebrew Letters, Tarot Trumps, Modes of Becoming
Ten Sephiroth are the stations. Twenty-two Paths are the journeys between them. Each path is a Hebrew letter — a cosmic principle encoded in language — and a Tarot trump: a visual initiatory symbol. The paths are not mere connections. They are modes of consciousness, qualities of passage, the channels through which divine energy moves between the spheres of being.
Three Ways to Enter the Path Corpus
The paths become legible when you approach them through the domain you already know. Read them as the connective tissue of the Tree, as the kinetic life of the Hebrew letters, or as the operative sequence of the Major Arcana.
Path 32 Seals the Tree in Embodied Form
The 22 paths are not a flat list. They culminate in Path 32 — Tav, where the astral pattern of Yesod is carried into Malkuth. This is why The World is not merely the last trump but the hub-level seal of the whole path sequence: the point where the Tree's interior architecture becomes inhabitable life.
The Three Orders of Letters
The primordial elements. Air, Water, Fire — the three originating substances from which all creation proceeds. These three letters are the mothers of all others.
The seven classical planets. Named "double" for their dual pronunciation — each letter holds a positive and negative force in tension, as each planet has a benefic and a malefic face.
The twelve signs of the zodiac. One archetypal quality each — the differentiated expression of consciousness through every phase of the cosmic year.
Three mothers gave birth to seven, and seven to twelve — the structure of the Sefer Yetzirah, the oldest Kabbalistic text.
The 22 paths are the journeys between the stations — not the stations themselves, but the modes of transformation that occur when consciousness moves from one quality of being to another.
