The Major Arcana
Twenty-Two Trumps — The Fool's Journey Through the Tree of Life
The Major Arcana are not fortune-telling cards. They are a complete initiatory curriculum — twenty-two stations of consciousness mapped to the twenty-two paths of the Tree of Life, the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and the elemental and planetary forces that govern the architecture of being. Each trump is a compressed teaching. The sequence is the Fool's Journey: the soul's passage from pure unformed potential through every mode of becoming, until it arrives at the World — integrated, complete, dancing at the center of the cosmos it has learned to understand.
Trump XXI is the Archive's Closure Principle
The Major Arcana do not end by merely adding one more card to the sequence. They close by carrying the entire journey into embodiment. The World is the seal on the trump cycle: Tav, Path 32, and Malkuth brought into one final crossing where imaginal pattern becomes lived form.
Four Sister Hubs, One Initiatory Body
The trumps are one face of a larger architecture. Read them as images, then step sideways into the Hebrew letters that name the current, the Tree paths that carry it between stations, the Sephiroth that receive the journey, and the Minor Arcana where the same structure descends into suit, number, and decan. The Tarot hub should act as a crossing, not a cul-de-sac.
The Three Orders of Trumps
The three primordial elements — Air, Water, Fire — in their purest archetypal form. The Fool, the Hanged Man, and Judgement operate on the most fundamental level of being: before will, before form, before structure.
The seven classical planets. The Magician, High Priestess, Empress, Wheel of Fortune, Tower, Sun, and World carry planetary energies — each with two faces: the benefic and the malefic, the exalted and the fallen.
Wheel of Fortune · The Tower · The Sun · The World
The twelve zodiac signs — each carrying one pure archetypal quality of consciousness. The Emperor through the Moon (excluding the planetary trumps) map the differentiated spectrum of the cosmic year onto stages of inner development.
Strength · The Hermit · Justice · Death
Temperance · The Devil · The Star · The Moon
The Hebrew word for "correspondence" — מכון — hints at why the Tarot, the Tree, and the Minor Arcana map so precisely: each is an encoding of the same underlying structure at a different scale.
The Martial Trumps Open an Inner Corridor
The Tarot hub should not leave Mars as a red glyph attached to isolated cards. From here, visitors can move from The Emperor as Aries under law, through Death as Scorpio's descent, into The Tower as the explosive planetary face of Mars, then downward into Graphiel and Bartzabel as the intelligence and spirit that give the Martial current its inner architecture.
Each trump is not a symbol to be decoded but a mode of consciousness to be entered.
The Fool's Journey is circular, not linear: the World is also the door through which
a new Fool steps. The reader who knows all 22 trumps from the inside
has mapped every territory the self can inhabit.
Each trump now has its own page. The work at this layer is no longer basic coverage,
but clarifying the architecture that makes the sequence cohere as one initiatory whole.
